10/31 Journal - Winter Is Coming

When I woke up this morning, I can totally felt that the temperature has decreased a lot. By feeling this, I could obviously know that winter is not far away from now. I guess it is probably because of global warming? The changing timing of four seasons is actually different from the timing when I was young. In addition, the temperature in summer is also higher now, and temperature in winter decreases more than before. I hoped that this current situation of Earth would improve. Otherwise humankind might end up living homeless because as soon as the ice at the North Pole melted, we will not survive.

10/30 Journal - Mid-Term Exam

This weekend was pretty tiring. Why? The reason is that mid-term exam is next week. That means I must review everything on the subjects that I will be test on. However, it might sounds like an easy task. Actually, the amount that I needed to study was beyond my original imagination. Although I started my review plan pretty early, there were still too many things I needed to go over again. Most importantly, when I was reviewing, I still got questions that I couldn’t figure out. Nevertheless, complaining is not the tool that can help me solve this problem. I think I probably need to work extra hard in order to get a good grades on my mid-term exam.

10/27 Journal - Halloween

Everyone has tons of fun in school, because today is Halloween! The first thing I noticed when I came to school today was almost everyone had different costumes. By looking at this, I believed that everyone was eager to win the award of best costumes. Also, art crew made a fantastic decoration for Halloween in school. Moreover, it also created hunted house as one of the entertainments. Every time I passed by, I always heard people screaming inside. We bought tickets in order to eat lunch today, and all the money we paid will become donation to philanthropically institutions. Therefore, we not only had a great time today, but also we did something good for people who need help. 

10/26 Journal - Taken

            Yesterday, I saw a movie called “Taken” on television. Liam Nesson acted the protagonist in the movie. In the movie, he is a former spy relies on his old skills to save his estranged daughter, who has been forced into the slave trade. He was merciless; he told the person, who kidnapped his daughter, “I don’t know who you are, but if you don’t let my daughter go, I will find you; I will kill you.” Later, he killed everyone involves and saved his daughter in the end. I really like the character that Liam Nesson played, because he was willing to protect and love her daughter even though his ex-wife always refused him to do anything for her. I think it is not only a splendid action movie, but also it showed the sign of father’s love.

10/25 Journal - Persistence

            Time is clicking; the admission deadline is getting closer and closer. However, there are still many things I need to complete. For instance, I need to get two recommendation letters from the teachers I assigned. At the mean time, I still need to prepare my third SAT Reasoning test and finish several essays in common application and different universities. Indeed, this year will be the toughest year I had in my life so far. Nevertheless, I will not give up, just like Ms. Pamela said “All the seniors are fighting for their future now.” Therefore, I will not let myself down; I will do my job persistently and diligently. In the end, I believe I will succeed.

10/24 Journal - Dinner Surprise

            Today, after I finished preparing my recommendation letters, I went straight to home. It seems to be a normal day, nothing special along the way to my home. When I got home, I changed my clothes and relax a little bit. However, there was a surprise for me during dinnertime. My aunt cooks dinner for us everyday. But, she not only cooked dinner today, but also she made a cheesecake for us. I taste a piece of the cheesecake, perhaps it is because I cannot remember when is the last time I tried cheesecake. I think this one is probably the best one I’ve eaten before. Therefore, I call my aunt and told her thank you and how tasty the cake was. In addition, I also asked her about the cake’s recipe, because I want to share it with my friends someday.

10/23 Journal - Mid-Term Exam Week Is Coming

           After the second SAT Reasoning test, everything seems easier. I think it is probably because my scores improved this time. However, I cannot relax too much, because I still need to take the third time and that means I need to come up a new plan for studying. There is about one month for me to prepare the third SAT, so it seems fairly enough for me. Nevertheless, the mid-term exam week is also coming, which means it is about time for me to review everything that every class went through in the past few months. I think I better get started earlier; otherwise I will end up with staying up the whole week before the mid-term exam week.

10/20 Journal - My Second SAT Score

After all the SAT preparation after school, my SAT scores finally improved!  My second SAT scores were available online around 5 p.m. today. One of the seniors discovered it first, and then he shouted to every senior who was still in the campus. As soon as that senior shouted, every single senior check his or her scores on Collegeboard immediately. I am not the only one got improvement on the second SAT; almost everyone has higher scores than their first time.  Although my score increased 160, I still want to challenge myself again. I hope after the hard work of the coming two months I will do even better on the third time.

10/19 Journal - Second SAT Reasoning Test Result

Tomorrow is the day that my second SAT Reasoning Test’s result be available online. I am really nervous now. Although there is a high possibility that I will take the third time, I still want the score be higher more than the first time. Moreover, I made an appointment with Ms. Pamela after school today. She told me that it is hard for me to get into any good school with the current performance on the SAT. I guess my pressure only gets higher and higher. Christmas is probably the only time for break now. So, I am looking forward to it. 

10/18 Journal - Laptops

Since my sister has been using her Sony laptop for almost four years. She decided to buy a new laptop recently. Therefore, she came to me and asked about some advices for changing a laptop. I told her that Mac is a good option not only because I am using it right now, but also she doesn’t need to worry about computer virus if she chooses Mac. Then, she told me that she would consider about it. Actually, no matter what kind of brands she chooses for her new laptop, I will still willing to give her advices, because helping others is one of my personal interests.
